Homepage of book coach's website including an intro section, testimonials, and a newsletter section.

Abby had a website, but it was a blog and hadn’t been updated in years. When she rebranded as an author and book coach, she needed a new logo, a website designed to win business, and a header for her new Substack newsletter.

A mood board led to the design of the logo, newsletter header, and a brand guide to direct the look and feel of the website. Interviews with prospective users (agents, clients) and competitive analysis informed the information architecture of the site. Abby contributed her own writing to complete the design.

Since launch, Abby’s website traffic is up 300%.

Education nonprofit homepage, including images of children, tutors, and a list of subjects tutored.

Educated Angel had a website that worked, in the sense that families could sign up for tutoring and tutors could sign up to volunteer. But the site wasn’t responsive (would not resize on mobile phones), it was not accessible, and the appearance was dated.

I began with a usability and accessibility audit, then looked through design and features inspiration with the client from comparable websites. I also designed a new logo. Once I built the website, I trained the client on how to update it themselves.

“One of our biggest concerns with the functionality of our site was the mobile experience. Alyssa made it way more accessible and responsive, which made a huge difference for our audience. Everything flows better, reads more clearly, and feels way more user-friendly across all devices.

Homepage of an Alexandria Realtor's website, including brand colors, logo, and testimonials.

Caitlin’s brokerage gave her a webpage, but she couldn’t list any property sales made before she joined. She also wanted a full site that felt authentic and tailored to her.

We looked through websites she liked as well as those of agents similar to her to design the necessary information architecture. Using her existing materials (logo, style guide, professional photos, and marketing collateral), I drafted the page content and designed a site that drew on and complemented her brand.

“Alyssa took my brand and turned it into a site that looks polished, loads fast, and makes it easy for buyers and sellers to reach me. She was patient with every revision and made the whole process feel easy.”

Homepage of a moms club website, which includes images of moms and kids and a logo.

Moms Club of Alexandria supports area mothers and their children through activities and resources. The group depends on membership to support programming and keep the club active.

Prospective members found the membership process written on the website difficult to understand. The process couldn't be changed but needed to be presented differently.

I was the sole designer exploring how Moms Club of Alexandria could simplify the membership process for users. Although the actual steps of the process could not be changed, I restructured content to increase conversions.
